Tap will not turn off? Urgent repairs in Kent
Call for urgent help. WhatsApp replies may not be immediate. We’ll confirm attendance and charges.
A tap that cannot shut off is not the same problem as an occasional drip. If water is overflowing a basin or escaping beneath it, stop using that fitting and call with your postcode.
Tell us where the water goes
Is water flowing normally from the spout, leaking around the tap body, or appearing underneath the sink? A failed handle or internal mechanism needs a different repair from a leaking supply connector. Do not force a stiff handle or keep twisting a loose one.
If you already know which accessible isolation valve serves the tap and can operate it safely, isolate that fitting. Do not experiment with unidentified valves or use force. If isolation fails, say so when calling.
Kitchen, basin and bath taps
We take calls about urgent faults with kitchen, wash-hand-basin and bath taps. Describe whether it is a mixer or separate hot and cold taps, and which supply is affected. A visible brand name or a photograph requested by the plumber may help with parts identification.
A replacement is sometimes necessary, but a particular tap model is not guaranteed to be carried. The visit should establish the fault and suitable options before you agree to additional work.
Access affects the repair
Stored items under a sink, a pedestal basin or taps behind a bath panel can restrict access. Clear loose belongings only if the area is dry and safe; do not disconnect pipework or remove heavy fittings.
If the tap shuts off normally but water appears when the basin empties, the under-sink leak guide may describe your situation more closely.
For an uncontrolled leak, call now. Check attendance and charges before booking; routine cosmetic tap upgrades are outside this emergency service.
