24HR PLUMBING KENT
Water leaking under a sink or basin
Call for urgent help. WhatsApp replies may not be immediate. We’ll confirm attendance and charges.
The cupboard may contain tap supplies, a waste trap and appliance hoses close together. A puddle beneath them is not enough to identify the failed connection.
Notice timing without running another test
If the leak happened while water was draining, tell the plumber. If water appeared while the tap and appliances were off, mention that too. Use what you have already observed; do not deliberately fill the sink again if it is causing damage.
Water can track along a pipe, hose or cupboard surface before dripping. Avoid tightening random joints, which may disturb a sound connection.
Make the area safe
Stop using the sink and connected appliances. Keep clear of wet sockets, plugs and electrical equipment. Remove cleaning products or belongings only if you can reach them safely.
If you know the correct supply valve and it is safely accessible, isolation may limit a supply leak. It will not empty water already in the waste pipe. Do not disconnect anything to check.
What to mention when calling
Describe whether the leak involves a kitchen sink or bathroom basin, whether an appliance shares the waste, and whether there is standing water in the bowl. Report any drain chemicals used recently before anyone handles the pipework.
If the tap itself will not shut off, see urgent tap repairs. If water backs up instead of escaping from a joint, see blocked sinks and showers.
Call 07469 896305 if the leak is active or cannot be isolated. Access, replacement fittings and the source of the problem determine the repair; a photo cannot establish a fixed diagnosis or price.
